Sophos Administrator / Sophos Engineer

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Manage and operate the Sophos Central platform and all its components (Endpoint Protection, Firewall, Email Security, Intercept X, and Server Protection).
• Monitor security alerts and respond promptly to security incidents.
• Analyze intrusion attempts or malware infections and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Implement security policies for devices, networks, and users through Sophos solutions.
• Follow up on system updates and ensure they are applied regularly to all devices and servers.
• Configure and maintain Sophos Firewall settings (rules, VPN, filters, reports, and QoS).
• Take responsibility for backup of security configurations and document all periodic changes.
• Prepare regular reports on security status, detected threats, and device protection levels.
• Coordinate with Sophos vendors or technical support when needed to resolve complex issues.
• Train users or technicians on safe computing practices and secure network usage.
• Ensure compatibility of Sophos systems with other components of the organization’s IT infrastructure (Active Directory, Proxy, etc.).
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 to 4 years of experience in information security or managing Sophos systems.
• Strong knowledge of Sophos Firewall and Sophos Central administration.
• Good understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, VLAN, DHCP).
• Experience working with other security systems (Antivirus, IDS/IPS, Web Filtering).
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations.
Preferred Skills:
• Holder of one or more of the following certifications:
o Sophos Certified Engineer / Architect
o CompTIA Security+
o CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker)
o CCNA Security or equivalent
• Experience managing multi-branch firewalls and VPN connections.
• Familiarity with SIEM and Monitoring Tools fundamentals.
