Build Your Awareness: Al-Ryada University Hosts a Seminar on Youth and National Security in Conjunction with the Anniversary of Sinai Liberation.

As part of Egypt’s celebrations marking the glorious anniversary of Sinai Liberation, Al-Ryada University for Science and Technology hosted a distinguished educational seminar titled “Youth and Egyptian National Security”, under the patronage of Dr. Yehia Mabrouk, Chairman of the University’s Board of Trustees. The seminar was organized within the framework of the “Build Your Awareness” initiative launched by the Coordination Committee of Party Youth Leaders and Politicians (CPYP).

The initiative aims to instill values of belonging and pride in the nation’s history, enhance students’ national awareness, inform them of current regional and international challenges, and raise their consciousness regarding national security issues among university youth.

The seminar was attended by a delegation from CPYP, which included a select group of public figures and members of the House of Representatives and the Senate: Dr. Ragia El-Feki, Member of the Senate; Dr. Khaled Badawy, Member of the House of Representatives; Dr. Mahmoud Nagi, and Dr. Al-Hassan Al-Azawi, both members of CPYP.

At the beginning of the seminar, Prof. Dr. Reda Hegazy, President of the University, warmly welcomed the attendees, affirming that Al-Ryada University strives to achieve both local and international competitiveness through its strategic vision and mission focused on preparing innovative graduates capable of critical thinking and creativity.

Dr. Hegazy explained that the university’s academic regulations are based on the reference framework issued by the Supreme Council of Universities, which emphasizes the importance of student activities and cognitive skill development. He also highlighted that the university offers a modern educational environment built on smart technologies to enhance students’ readiness for the labor market.

For her part, Dr. Ragia El-Feki emphasized in her speech that Egypt is facing immense challenges both regionally and internationally, on all border fronts, noting that the magnitude of these challenges is unprecedented yet reflects Egypt’s strong and pivotal role in the region.
She praised the wisdom of the political leadership under President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, highlighting his role in safeguarding national security and firmly addressing all external threats.

Meanwhile, Dr. Khaled Badawy pointed out that Egypt is currently facing a new form of warfare, where tools such as social media and artificial intelligence are used to distort facts and destabilize internal security. He stressed that this type of war is no less dangerous than traditional military conflicts, as it primarily targets the awareness of Egyptian citizens and seeks to undermine national achievements.

Dr. Mahmoud Nagi shed light on the importance of combating extremist ideologies and countering misinformation, especially regarding the Palestinian cause. He reaffirmed Egypt’s steadfast position against the forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza and its firm support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

In the same vein, Dr. Al-Hassan Al-Azawi urged university students to embrace their societal role in preserving collective national awareness, describing it as the first line of defense against plots aimed at destabilizing the state and undermining trust between citizens and national institutions.

The seminar witnessed a high-level attendance from university leadership, including Prof. Dr. Ehab Said, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Community Service; Dr. Mohamed El-Sherbiny, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; a number of deans, faculty members, and administrative leaders, notably Mr. Hassan Ammar, University Secretary-General, and Mr. Abdelrahman Yehia, Assistant Secretary-General, in addition to a large number of students from various university faculties.

At the conclusion of the seminar, the CPYP delegation engaged with the students, answering a range of questions on political, economic, and social issues. The session witnessed vibrant interaction, reflecting the university youth’s keen interest in current national and regional matters.
