Launching the Posture Health Initiative at the Student Conference of the Faculty of Physical Therapy

The Faculty of Physical Therapy at Al-Ryada University for Science and Technology (RST) organized its second student conference, which witnessed the launch of the “Posture Health” initiative. This initiative focuses on gait analysis and its impact on the human body, aiming to determine the correct walking posture for optimal health. The conference also showcased student innovations and a variety of posters addressing topics such as musculoskeletal function, wrist-related issues, and pressure-induced complications.

Held under the patronage of Dr. Yehia Mabrouk, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and attended by Prof. Dr. Reda Hegazy, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Ehab Said, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Community Service, Prof. Dr. Mohamed El-Sherbiny, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Mr. Hassan Ammar, University Secretary-General, and Mr. Abdelrahman Yehia, Assistant Secretary-General—along with deans and faculty members—the opening session began with the national anthem and a recitation from the Holy Qur’an by student Ahmed El-Masry. This was followed by a documentary video highlighting the college’s student-led activities and initiatives, reflecting a strong spirit of teamwork, academic commitment, and innovation.

Prof. Dr. Reda Hegazy emphasized that such student-led events are essential in developing skills, enriching experiences, and encouraging scientific excellence. They also promote knowledge exchange between students and faculty members, and help build a spirit of cooperation and healthy competition.

He also announced that preparations are underway to open a Physical Therapy Clinic at the college to serve the local community in Monufia Governorate, as part of the university’s community engagement efforts. Additionally, cooperation protocols are being signed with hospitals to provide hands-on training for students and create real employment opportunities after graduation.

In her speech, Prof. Dr. Amira Afifi, Acting Dean of the Faculty, welcomed the attendees and reviewed the college’s research achievements. She highlighted the fruitful collaboration between the Faculty of Physical Therapy and the Faculty of Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence, which has significantly contributed to student innovations and the successful execution of their projects. She commended the students for their determination and dedication, which she described as the keys to excellence and success.
