STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES :
(1) Strategic Objective 1:
Enhance Research Capacity and Access Building capacity for new research programs and projects will require additional investment. By focusing on enhancing opportunities for researchers to be supported through grants, administrative support, expert guidance on compliance and reporting, policies that can unlock efficient and impactful systems.(2) Strategic Objective 2:
Create Excellent Training Opportunities RST-RC’s approach to research empowers new means of production, employment, creative and aesthetic expression, and culminates in a wealth of opportunities for its graduates.(3) Strategic Objective 3:
Strengthen Partnerships and Collaborations RST-RC is dedicated to facilitating mutually-rewarding research and partnerships with community organizations, citizens’ associations, government, and industry partners across art, design, science, technology, humanities, and health – both locally and globally.RST-RC Priorities
• Develop strategic networks with other post-secondary institutions to accelerate research innovation • Enhance capacity of the Research and Industry Office to communicate with external partners through streamlining processes and building media assets • Host annual exploratory meetings with researchers and industry and community organizations to engage in early-stage discussions • Establish incentives for cross-disciplinary and cross-faculty collaboration in close consultation with all stakeholders • Design new in-take processes to effectively and efficiently pair industry needs with researcher expertise • Initiate policy reviews to support new collaborative research structures and typologies at the university • Leverage international partnerships to strategically develop and deploy seed funding for international projects • Deliver additional support to proven programs and research projects that have built effective partnerships to advance strategic opportunities
ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE :
1. Research Support Unit (U-1)
This unit provides researchers with the following:
• Assist with grant proposal development
• Assist with study design
• Develop efficient data management strategies
• Assist in research ethics approval procedure
• Perform originality index and para-phrasing reporting
• Assist in procedure of international publication of manuscripts
• Perform appropriate statistical analysis
• Assist with writing reports for scientific publication
• Assist in determining the availability of research resources
• Assist with applying to patency procedures
• Assist with applying to international awards
2. Evidence Based research Planning Unit (U-2)
This unit aims for developing research on evidence based manner through:
• Connecting the latest research findings with the daily practice of each discipline
• Providing on-demand access to systematic reviews database
• Providing on demand research for related companies in industry
3. Training Unit (U-3)
This unit aims for providing researchers with various training workshops in different scientific research areas such as:
• Writing a scientific proposal
• Research methodology
• Research ethics
• Originality index and para-phrasing
• International publication
• Applying for scientific projects and grants
4. Scientific Collaboration Unit (U-4)
This unit aims for continuous co-operation with domestic and international research organizations to optimize the benefit for researchers by providing them with various research resources. These organizations include for example:
