RST University Hosts the Grand Mufti of Egypt in an Awareness Seminar for Its Students
As part of the 2025/2026 Cultural Season activities, RST University of Science and Technology hosted His Eminence, the Grand Mufti of Egypt, Prof. Dr. Nazier Ayad, in a lecture titled:
“The Role of Religion in Building the Human Being”

He emphasized that the university adopts the Education 5.0 model, which focuses on human development as well as spiritual and moral values. He explained that science and religion are complementary in shaping a balanced personality. He stressed that family, religion, and the university are essential pillars in developing individuals capable of creativity and societal leadership.

He praised RST University and its leadership and expressed his happiness to be among the students. He explained that religion not only guides behavior but also nurtures the soul, refines character, and instills values of mercy, justice, and tolerance.
He discussed the challenges of the digital age and the need to understand religion correctly, free from misconceptions. He emphasized that religion respects reason, liberates the mind from superstitions, and provides a solid foundation for human development.
He highlighted the importance of:
Faith as a cornerstone of personal development
Worship in strengthening the spirit and willpower
Ethics and behavior in shaping a righteous individual
Value-based education in the context of moral decline on social media
He also stressed the integration of intellect and religion and achieving balance between the spiritual and material aspects of a person.
He cited the Quranic verse:
﴿And do not forget your share of the world﴾
and the Prophet ﷺ’s saying:
“Two blessings that many people waste: health and free time.”
The seminar witnessed active participation from students and faculty members, with His Eminence answering all questions and inquiries.
Dr. Yehia Mabrouk and Prof. Dr. Reda Hegazy honored the Grand Mufti and presented him with the university shield in recognition of his efforts in serving religion and the nation.
