RST University of Science and Technology Participates in the 5th Forum of the Union of Russian and Arab University Presidents to Strengthen International Partnerships

Dr. Reda Hegazy, President of RST University of Science and Technology, attended the opening of the Fifth Forum of the Union of Russian and Arab University Presidents, held under the theme: “Bridging the Knowledge Civilizations: Education, Innovation, and a Sustainable Future.”

The forum is organized in cooperation between the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Association of Arab Universities, and the Union of Russian Universities. It is hosted by Al-Assema University at the Arts and Culture Complex over Sunday and Monday of this December, with high-level participation from leaders of higher education, including: 

– Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research
– Mr. Konstantin Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia
– H.E. Georgiy Y. Borisenko, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Cairo
– Dr. V. A. Sadovnichy, President of Lomonosov Moscow State University
– Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary-General of the Arab Universities Association

The event also saw broad participation from representatives of higher education and research institutions across the Arab world and Russia, aiming to enhance scientific cooperation and exchange expertise in university education.

During his participation, the University President emphasized the importance of the forum as an international platform supporting academic partnerships. He noted that the event aligns with the Ministry of Higher Education’s strategy to strengthen internationalization, promote academic openness, and support joint research projects—contributing to improving the global ranking of Egyptian universities and advancing the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to boost international partnerships in higher education and scientific research.

Dr. Reda Hegazy added that the strong support of Egypt’s political leadership is a fundamental pillar in advancing Egyptian universities and positioning them competitively on the global stage. He highlighted that the President’s directives to expand international cooperation have helped create a more advanced and flexible educational environment, while supporting strategic partnerships and student and research exchange programs.

He also stressed that RST University places great importance on expanding its international partnerships in line with its vision for development and innovation. The university seeks to establish more agreements with globally prestigious universities and research institutions, aiming to exchange expertise, implement joint research projects, and strengthen student and academic exchange programs across various disciplines.
