Al-Ryada University and the Armed Forces Medical Research and Regenerative Medicine Center Explore a Strategic Partnership to Support Scientific Research and Innovation

Dr. Reda Hegazy and Major General Dr. Mostafa El-Nakib Emphasize the Importance of Integration Between Academic and Research Institutions to Advance Precision Medicine and Innovation

In a step that reflects a national commitment to strengthening collaboration between academic and research institutions, a high-level delegation from Al-Ryada University for Science and Technology (RST) paid an official visit to the Armed Forces Medical Research and Regenerative Medicine Center to explore opportunities for cooperation in scientific research, training, innovation, and capacity building, contributing to the advancement of Egypt’s higher education and research ecosystem.

The delegation was received by Major General Dr. Mostafa El-Nakib, Director of the Medical Research and Regenerative Medicine Center; Major General Dr. Osama El-Mohamady, Deputy Director; Major General Dr. Tarek Taha, Head of the Stem Cell Department; Major General Dr. Khaled Taalab, Training Advisor to the Director; Professor Dr. Ashraf Shaalan, Research Affairs Advisor to the Director; and Brigadier Mahmoud Samir, Advisor for Animal Care Affairs. 

The Al-Ryada University delegation included Professor Dr. Reda Hegazy, President of the University and former Minister of Education; Professor Dr. Ehab Said, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research; Professor Dr. Naglaa Abdel Mawgoud, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing; Professor Dr. Nesreen Saleh, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Dr. Omar Yehia Mabrouk, Member of the University Board of Trustees; Mr. Sayed El-Dekrory, Advisor to the University President for Public Relations and Media; and Mr. Amr El-Rouby, Chief of Protocol to the University President.

Major General Dr. Mostafa El-Nakib stated that the visit represents an important step toward establishing an integrated model of cooperation between academic and research institutions. He emphasized that the Center places great importance on building strategic partnerships that support education, scientific research, and the achievement of sustainable development goals.

He explained that the proposed areas of collaboration include conducting joint scientific research addressing national priorities, promoting interdisciplinary integration, exchanging academic and research expertise among faculty members and researchers, and developing training, qualification, and capacity-building programs for students, graduates, and professionals.

He added that cooperation would also extend to the joint supervision of research projects and academic theses, organizing specialized conferences, seminars, and workshops, and fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, knowledge transfer, and technology dissemination for the benefit of society. He emphasized that science and knowledge remain the fundamental pillars for achieving progress and addressing future challenges.

For his part, Professor Dr. Reda Hegazy expressed his appreciation for the visit and the advanced scientific and research capabilities he observed at the Center. He reaffirmed that Al-Ryada University places scientific research and innovation among its top strategic priorities and is committed to establishing effective partnerships with leading research institutions to enhance the quality and outcomes of higher education.

The University President noted that Al-Ryada University was established under Presidential Decree No. 445 of 2021 with the aim of providing modern higher education aligned with the needs of local, regional, and international labor markets. He explained that the University currently comprises 11 faculties, following the addition of the Faculties of Pharmacy, Arts and Design, and Applied Health Sciences Technology, and offers more than 32 advanced academic programs.

He further stated that the University is continuing the necessary legal procedures to establish a Faculty of Medicine, alongside the completion and equipping of its University Hospital according to the highest medical and educational standards, ensuring the integration of educational, research, and healthcare services within a comprehensive medical system.
