Al-Ryada University Welcomes a Delegation from the Bibliotheca Alexandrina to Promote a Culture of Knowledge and Innovation
Al-Ryada University for Science and Technology welcomed a delegation from the Bibliotheca Alexandrina to explore opportunities for mutual cooperation and discuss the establishment of a “Knowledge Embassy” within the University. The initiative aims to enhance digital and knowledge awareness among students and researchers while opening new avenues for training and capacity building in technology and innovation. The visit was held under the patronage of Dr. Yehia Mabrouk, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Professor Dr. Reda Hegazy, President of the University.
The delegation was received by Professor Dr. Ehab Said, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research; Dr. Mohamed El-Sherbiny, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Mr. Hassan Ammar, Secretary General of the University; and Mr. Abdelrahman Yehia, Assistant Secretary General.
During the meeting with the University leadership, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina delegation presented the scientific and digital services offered through its Knowledge Embassies, which enable students and researchers to access the digital library and benefit from international databases, scientific theses, and specialized research across various academic disciplines. The initiative also provides a supportive environment for innovation and lifelong learning.
Professor Dr. Reda Hegazy emphasized that Al-Ryada University is committed to building strategic partnerships with leading national institutions in alignment with Egypt’s vision for digital transformation and the development of higher education and scientific research. He noted that cooperation with the Bibliotheca Alexandrina represents an important step toward strengthening a culture of knowledge and innovation within the University.
For his part, Dr. Ashraf Farag, Advisor to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, expressed his appreciation for the advanced academic and research capabilities of Al-Ryada University. He stated that the University is among the first institutions in Monufia Governorate nominated to host a Knowledge Embassy, which serves as an extension of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina’s mission to promote digital culture and provide accessible knowledge for all.
He further explained that the Bibliotheca Alexandrina houses 12 advanced research offices, offering students and researchers extensive opportunities to access the latest scientific studies and academic theses. He affirmed that cooperation with Al-Ryada University would significantly contribute to supporting scientific research and serving students across the governorate.
The Bibliotheca Alexandrina delegation included Dr. Ashraf Farag, Advisor to the Library; Dr. Ahmed Samir, Head of the Information Technology (IT) Sector at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina; and Eng. Ahmed Abdel Wahed, External Sites Coordinator at the Library.
