Al-Ryada University Scouts Shine at the Summer Activity Program in Alexandria
As part of Al-Ryada University for Science and Technology’s commitment to student activities and the development of students’ skills and capabilities through integrated programs that promote collaboration, teamwork, and leadership, under the patronage of Dr. Yehia Mabrouk, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Prof. Dr. Reda Hegazy, President of the University, a delegation from the University’s Scout Troops participated in the Summer Activity Program for the 2026–2027 Scouting Year.
The program was held at the Mohamed Anwar Abdel Latif Naval Center in Alexandria and was organized by the Egyptian Sea Scouts Association – Menoufia Branch under the slogan: “Sailing in Preparation for Life… Always Prepared.”
Prof. Dr. Reda Hegazy, President of the University, affirmed that the participation of the University’s Scout Troops reflects the University’s commitment to providing a comprehensive educational environment that combines academic excellence with practical and extracurricular activities. He praised the outstanding performance demonstrated by the students throughout the program, emphasizing that such experiences strengthen leadership skills, foster a sense of national belonging, and serve as an exemplary model for supporting student engagement and personal development.
The program featured a series of educational lectures for the participating Scout members under the supervision of Mr. Tarek Youssef El-Azab, Member of the Central Board of the Egyptian Sea Scouts Association; Mr. Mohamed Abdel Shahid, Vice Chairman of the Menoufia Branch; and Mr. Talaat El-Kilani, Board Member of the Sea Scouts Association in Menoufia. Participants also received advanced training in rowing and boat-handling skills, took part in open-water swimming activities, and enhanced their practical field skills at sea.
The activities further included educational visits to the historic Qaitbay Citadel, where participants explored one of Egypt’s most significant coastal fortresses, as well as recreational tours to Raml Station and the Alexandria Corniche, helping to strengthen friendship, teamwork, and the spirit of cooperation among the participants.
At the conclusion of the program, Mr. Mohamed Saeed El-Gharbawy, Chairman of the Egyptian Sea Scouts Association – Menoufia Branch, expressed his sincere appreciation to the delegation of Al-Ryada University for Science and Technology, led by Mr. Saeed Abdel Azim, Director of Student Activities and Head of the University’s Delegation, commending their commitment, discipline, and exemplary leadership throughout the event.
